Graduate Study Opportunities in the Extension Vegetable Crop Physiology Lab at Ohio State |
|
Persons
interested in the science and management of vegetable crop physiology are
encouraged to contact Matt Kleinhenz to discuss opportunities for graduate
study. Students at the College of Wooster and elsewhere are also invited to
discuss opportunities for technical positions and independent study projects.
Support is available for a student to examine genotype and management effects on
the accumulation of specific phytochemicals, including those reported to impact
the market and potential health value of vegetable crops. A long-term goal of
this project is to identify means by which phytochemical accumulation may be
manipulated for grower and consumer benefit. Other areas of potential study
include overcoming fertility- and germplasm-related limits to productivity in
sustainable-organic production systems and increasing the utility of cultural
controls in pest management. Please consult the program description page
of this website for more information on the Extension Vegetable Crop Physiology
Lab.
