Part Time Garden Coordinator: Heirloom Garden (Wexner)

The Heirloom Garden is looking for an OSU student garden coordinator who can help manage the garden and plan outreach programs as necessary. This unique garden produces food for the Wexner Center for the Arts café, Heirloom, and acts a learning garden for OSU students. This opportunity is a great way to build experience with organic vegetable production, public outreach, and work in collaboration with OSU organizations.
This is a part-time position at $8/hr with an average workload of 6 hours per week and requiring a presence at the garden 2-3 times a week. Work is dictated by the growing season and the coordinator is expected to work primarily through March to November The garden coordinator also has the chance to receive food from Heirloom in exchange for their work..
This position needs to be filled immediately.
Specific responsibilities of the garden coordinator include:
· General maintenance of the garden (watering, weeding, tidying up)
· Planning crop rotations
· Planting
· Harvesting
· Organizing workdays to plant, weed, harvest in efforts to alleviate workload and provide students with gardening experience
· Design and print educational materials as needed
· Collaborate with OSU Office of Student Life, Wexner Center for the Arts, and other OSU organizations to create educational programs
