Poster Competition on Graduate Student Research Projects

A graduate student poster competition will be held during the OARDC Annual Research Conference on April 23, 2009 at The Blackwell Center, Columbus Campus.  Any currently enrolled graduate students or those who received their graduate degree after Spring Quarter 2008, who are (or were) working on an OARDC or College of Food, Agricultural, and Environmental Sciences funded project are eligible.

Graduate student entrants may present posters only on original research they have conducted while at Ohio State University. There are no restrictions regarding number of graduate students participating per faculty member or department. Separate competitions will be held for Masters and Doctoral students. First, second, and third place winners in each competition will receive cash awards of $500, $300 and $150, respectively. Winners will be announced at the conference.

This competition has been established to showcase graduate research in the College of Food, Agricultural, and Environmental Sciences and the OARDC, to encourage graduate student participation at the Conference, and to enlighten College and OARDC personnel on the diversity of research projects being conducted at our institution.

Registration:  Students must submit his/her name, degree sought, department, advisor's name and email address, and upload an abstract including title of the poster and authors using the web based registration form at http://www.oardc.ohio-state.edu/annualconference/posterreg.asp  by 5:00 pm on March 13, 2009(The web site will be closed for submission by the deadline.  There will be no late submissions.)  

The completed posters must be submitted to the OSU Knowledge Bank (http://kb.osu.edu) by 5:00 pm on March 27, 2009.   

Registration, submission of an abstract and a pdf file of the poster to the OSU Knowledge Bank, and displaying the poster during the Annual Research Conference are required to be eligible for the Poster Competition.  (Students are requested to be in attendance at his/her poster to answer questions by conference participants during poster viewing times on April 23: 10:30 - 11:00 am and 12:00 - 1:00 pm).
