Renowned Soil Scientist Joins OSU as Eminent Scholar
COLUMBUS, Ohio — Richard P. Dick, a professor in the Department of Crop and Soil Science at Oregon State University, Corvallis, since 1996, has joined Ohio State University’s School of Natural Resources as Ohio Eminent Scholar in Soil Microbial Ecology. His role: to further expand the School’s ambitious soil-science program by providing expertise in microbiology and biochemistry of soils.

New Team at Helm of Farm Science Review
LONDON, Ohio – When the Farm Science Review opens its gates to visitors later this month, new management will be at the helm.
Chuck Gamble, assistant manager for nine years, became manager in July after Craig Fendrick retired following 23 years as manager. Matt Sullivan stepped into the assistant manager position shortly after that. Gamble hails from DeGraff, Ohio, and Sullivan from London, Ohio.

U.S. Rep. LaTourette Visits OARDC Grape Station, Samples Growing Wine Industry
KINGSVILLE, Ohio -- Ohio boasts 3,000 acres of grapes and over 80 wineries -- growing from 37 just seven years ago -- that bring in an estimated $70 million a year. U.S. Rep. Steven LaTourette of Ohio’s 14th District sampled this flourishing industry Aug. 10 during a tour of the Ohio Agricultural Research and Development Center’s (OARDC) Ashtabula Agricultural Research Station in Kingsville.
