Dr. Roberts, an adjunct professor of Botany/Microbiology, is currently involved in two research projects. The first, funded by the USDA, concerns new alternatives for improving chemical pest control technology in agricultural production. The second involves the use of composted municipal wastes as potential growing media for selected horticultural crops - primarily turfgrass sod and various groundcovers. This project, funded by the NSF and the city of Columbus, Ohio, involves cooperative studies with Dr. Henry Decker, also an Adjunct faculty member at OWU. In addition to his research studies, Dr. Roberts often directs independent study students. Current grants and funding sources include the U.S. Dept. of Agriculture, the National Science Foundation, the International Society of Arboriculture, and the city of Columbus.
