OARDC Family Scholarship and James and Yvonne Brown Scholarship Award

OARDC Family Scholarship

The OARDC Family Scholarship Award is to provide educational assistance to eligible spouses and dependent children of OARDC funded employees.  Funds for awards come from donations by OARDC employees and others through the OSU Campus Campaign.  It is the responsibility of the committee to promote the program, review nominees and select recipients for recommendation to the Associate Director.

James and Yvonne Brown Scholarship Award

The James and Yvonne Brown Scholarship Award has been created by a donation by James and Yvonne Brown. This award provides educational assistance to eligible spouses or dependent children of OARDC non-faculty employees located on the Wooster Campus or one of the eight OARDC Outlying Agricultural Research Stations. Annual awards totaling $2,000 will be given, with disbursement being determined by the selection committee. Award money should be used for tuition, books or other related educational expenses.

Committee Membership:

• The committee shall consist of seven members, six of who shall be appointed by the Director (or his designee) to represent a broad representation of the OARDC faculty and staff.  The OARDC Office of Human Resources Manager shall serve as an ex-officio member.   All members except the ex-officio member shall be voting members.
• The committee shall elect the chairperson of the committee.
• Each October, the Director (or his designee) shall appoint two new members for three-year period.
• Vacancies occurring on the committee shall be filled by appointment by the Director (or his designee) and shall serve the remaining term of the original appointee.
