Visitor will be in Wooster less than one month
1. Letter of introduction from the department/faculty sponsor to librarian, outlining a. Name of visitor b. OARDC faculty member responsible c. Dates of visit d. Research are/library services requested e. Faculty member should accompany the visitor to the library when requesting services. Or, the visitor must present the letter with a photo ID
2. Faculty member will complete a "faculty authorization request" form a. Allows visitor to borrow and request library materials using faculty member's library record. Faculty member is responsible for any lost or damaged materials b. Overdue/recall notices will come to faculty member's email
3. Library Circulation a. Visitor will be issued a temporary courtesy card b. Visitor are subject to fines like any other borrower
4. Library Photocopier/printers a. Copier and printers are to be used for printing OARDC research-related materials b. Faculty sponsor should make visitor aware of copyright law c. Visitor may request a temporary PIN for use of copier after hours (in conjunction with #5) d. Excessive photocopying/printing will be reported to department
5. Library Keycard a. Keycard may be issued if requested by faculty sponsor b. Visitor must return keycard prior to departure c. For the safety of the visitor, he/she should be encouraged to carry proper identification and proof of OARDC status whenever he/she is in the library after hours.
6. Interlibrary loan a. Due to the shortness of the stay, interlibrary loan will not be available b. Only articles in the Food, Agricultural and Environmental Sciences Library may be requested form the Columbus campus.
7. Arrival/departure form a. An arrival/departure form must be signed by a member of the library staff, verifying that any library material and keycard gave been returned to the library prior to the termination of the visit. Any fines accrued will be collected at this time or will be the responsibility of the department.
8. Access to online library resources will not be approved after departure from Wooster under any circumstances.
Visitor will be in Wooster longer that one month
1. Department must follow procedures established by College through the Dean's Office for authorizing visitor.
2. Visitor will be entered in ARMS by the department and will obtain a BuckID prior to library services being approved.*
3. Library Circulation a. Visitor will be entered in patron database using BuckID b. Real or 999 Social Security Number must be entered in patron record c. Visitors are subject to fines like any other borrower
4. Library Photocopier/printers a. Copier and printers are to be used for printing OARDC research-related materials only b. Faculty sponsor should make visitor aware of copyright law c. Visitor may request a temporary PIN for use of copier after hours (in conjunction with #5) d. Excessive photocopying/printing will be reported to department
5. Library Keycard a. Keycard may be issued upon request b. Visitor must return keycard prior to departure c. For the safety of the visitor, he/she should be encouraged to carry proper identification and proof of OARDC status whenever he/she is in the library after hours
6. Interlibrary loan a. Interlibrary loan should be discussed with the librarian. Depending on the length of the visit, interlibrary loan may not be feasible. b. The library reserves the right to refuse requests that are deemed to be excessively difficult or expensive to obtain. These cases will be discussed with the department/faculty sponsor. c. Only requests for materials related to OARDC research will be accepted.
