| The Section
of Communications and Technology in Wooster offers design, printing, and
laminating services for student, staff, and faculty posters designed for
competitions or meetings. Posters typically include a title, author names,
an abstract and text, and figures and tables. To request a poster, contact
Bonnie Bing in Wooster (extension 3508 or e-mail bing.2@osu.edu).
Posters are output on a 36-inch color plotter at a charge of $7 per linear
foot. A 100-W form is required. Important: A request should be made as much in advance as possible before the date the poster is needed. Posters that are needed in less than two weeks time may be subject to a rush charge. Overtime charges are assessed at $30 per hour, plus any additional costs related to materials, outsourcing, and project complexity. All content (text, images, figures, etc.) is due in a final state two weeks before the poster is needed. This means all authors and advisors must have reviewed the poster materials and approved content in advance of submission. Revisions to content will not be made after submission. Posters may be sized up to 36 inches wide; however, anything over 24 inches wide must be laminated off-campus. All posters must be laminated. Acceptable file formats are as follows: For text: Microsoft Word For images and photos: JPEG TIFF Resolution should be at least 400 dpi (dots per inch) and the image should be close to the final size you want. Generally, if an image looks bad on your monitor, it will look bad when printed. However, a 72 dpi image may look good on your monitor, but when printed it will be pixelated (the individual pixels will show because the resolution is low). For tables: Microsoft Word or Microsoft Excel For graphs: SlideWrite Please export your graph as either a JPEG or TIFF file. We will not accept WordPerfect files. We do not guarantee support of Illustrator, Freehand, or Microsoft Publisher files.
