Need More Incentive to Fill Out Your PHA in 2009?

We Can Do That!

Starting in September, The Office of Human Resources will be holding monthly drawings for faculty and staff who complete their Personal Health Assessment (PHA) in 2009.  Each month, 10 winners will be awarded a $50 gift card.  Fill out your PHA for 2009 before Novemeber 30, 2009,  receive a medical premium reduction up to $240 and possibly a $50 gift card! Monthly drawings will take place in September, October, November and December.  If you haven't filled out your PHA, schedule a biometric screening and go to yourplanforhealth.com to complete your assessment before November 30, 2009, to be included in one of the upcoming drawings.

CWA Merit Information

The University and Communication Workers of America(CWA) have negotiated a provision in the 2009 contract that provides additional base pay compensation to bargaining members based on annual performance review.

Changes in CCS Rules governing Reduction in Workforce

Next Steps
 
After the 30-day public comment period (August 1 - 30), the next steps in the Reduction in Force related rules update process will be:
-        We will review all the feedback that is submitted and integrate the feedback we feel is appropriate.
-        The final revised rules will be taken to the Board of Trustees for approval during their October 28 - 29 meeting.
-        If approved, the rules and related policies and practices will be effective December 1, 2009.
-        Brown bag discussions for HRPs and Managers of CCS staff will be held during November and December.
 
We will work on the rules related to Performance Management (Performance, Probation, Discipline, and Disciplinary Processes) during FY10 (autumn - spring quarters) and Leaves (Leave Policies, Sick Leave, and Definitions) during FY10 and FY11.

Outstanding Staff Award

The OARDC Staff Award recognizes non-teaching staff that provide excellent service to the OARDC.  The award is given annually to two recipients representing Senior A & P, A & P, and Classified Civil Service OARDC employees.  The nominations have been received and the Outstanding Staff Committee has made their decision.  The committee members had the difficult task of selecting two winners out of an excellent pool of nominees.  They will receive their awards at this year's Employee Appreciation Dinner, October 1, 2009.

Family and James & Yvonne Brown Scholarship

Paying for tuition, books, supplies, and all the other educational expenses associated with earning a higher eduacation is not getting any easier.  The OARDC would like to lend a helping hand to a few deserving students to provide some relief against rising education costs.
