Tekoa Miller

Former Student Research Assistant

BACKGROUND:

I was born in Holmesville, Ohio on a mini dairy goat farm, where I’ve lived all my life. I’m a homeschooled junior in high school, and after graduation I plan to major in journalism. My hobbies and interests include writing, teaching riding lessons, riding my mare, reading classics, and performing skits. I began working in the Vegetable Physiology Lab in November of 2003, after working as a harvester for a couple months. Using my work in the lab two days a week, I’ve been able to tie it into my science curriculum for school. I’ve learned various things such as how to grade potatoes on US standard, writing publications, preparations for sensory evaluations, and assisting grad students with their various research projects.
