Best Poster Award!

Leyi Wang (PhD student) received the best Graduate Student Poster Award at the 144th American Veterinary Medical Association Annual Convention, Washington D.C. July 14-18, 2007. His poster was entitled "New Way to Develop Live Influenza Vaccine Candidate Strains."

The ACVM Award for Best Oral Presentation!

Smitha Pillai (PhD student) received the American College of Veterinary Microbiologists Student Awards for best oral presentation at the Conference of Research Workers in Animal Diseases (88^th Annual Meeting). December 1-4, 2007. Chicago, Illinois. She gave a presentation entitled “Infection and transmission studies with low pathogenic H5 subtype avian influenza viruses of different origins”.
