Genomics manager (Research Associate 2)
The Molecular and Cellular Imaging Center (MCIC, www.oardc.ohio-state.edu/mcic) at The Ohio State University, OARDC on the Wooster campus, is seeking applicants for a Genomics manager position to conduct, oversee and coordinate genetic experiments to support genomics research and breeding programs.
The Genomics manager will oversee and troubleshoot all steps involved in capillary sequencing, MPS sequencing, SNP and fragment analysis genotyping, will train users on the equipment, maintain and troubleshoot the equipment used for the genetics projects, and develop new or revised research methodologies. The Genomics Manager will participate in research, assist faculty with data interpretation, development of new projects, and contribute to grant writing.
The candidate must have at least a Master in Plant Biology, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology or related discipline. Experience in genomics, molecular biology research, bioinformatics, and statistical methods for data analysis required, as well as excellent written and oral communication skills. A Ph.D. in Genomics, Plant Molecular Biology or agriculture-related discipline is preferred.
