Agriculture’s Evolving Roles
NABC 20 will convene in Columbus, Ohio on June 3-5, 2008. Located on the eastern edge of the corn belt, with agriculture as it’s number one industry and home to more than 11 million people, Ohio exemplifies the changes reflected in the conference theme, Reshaping American Agriculture to Meet Its Biofuel and Biopolymer Needs.
NABC 20 will broaden the Agricultural Biofuels theme focused on at NABC 19 in Brookings, South Dakota. The conference will examine the trends that are developing as agriculture expands its role and the policies that impact these changes. It will also consider the potential consequences of using crops as renewable energy resources and the effectiveness of approaches for deriving value from generated co-products. Keynote speakers for each of the four planned modules will provide attendees with varied perspectives and will be followed by comments from the response panelists. In the tradition of NABC, there will be opportunities for everyone to participate in the discussions during breakout sessions.
NABC 20 participants will join attendees of the Ohio Polymer Summit for lunch on Tuesday and will have a chance to attend their Tuesday morning program. The overlap of these conferences will allow interaction to discuss opportunities for agricultural crops as they expand beyond food and fiber and for building on the synergism between the agricultural sector and Ohio’s $50 billion polymer industry.
We hope that you can join us for this important conversation and look forward to your input in the discussions.
