| The 2007 Northeast Agricultural and Biological Engineering Conference will be held at the Ohio Agricultural Research and Development Center (OARDC) campus of The Ohio State University in Wooster, Ohio. This is the first time that NABEC has come to Ohio and the meeting will be held in conjunction with the Ohio section of the ASABE. Undergraduate and graduate students are especially encouraged to attend. |

Accommodations: Hilton Garden Inn, located across the street from OARDC. A limited amount of on campus housing has been reserved at the Stone House and Rice House for NABEC attendees. Bed and breakfast accommodations and other hotels are also available in the Wooster area. Please contact the organizers about these other locations.

Locale: Wooster in Wayne County, Ohio.
Getting here: Nearby airports are Canton-Akron (CAK) 44 miles, Cleveland (CLE) 52 miles, Columbus (CMH) 98 miles. A limited number of airport shuttles will be arranged from Cleveland and Akron. For driving directions use Mapquest and the address of the Hilton Garden Inn. At present a shuttle van is scheduled for 5 pm Sunday, July 29th from Cleveland to Wooster and Wednesday afternoon from Wooster to Cleveland. Please contact us ASAP if you need a spot on the shuttle. There will be a limited number of spaces and a fee of $5 per person. Also please contact us if you will be renting a car at the airport and would like to carpool or could transport other attendees to/from the airport and Wooster.
NABEC Undergraduate Student Paper Competition
Deadline for the entry is May 25, 2007.Winners of the paper competition will receive cash awards of $150, $100, and $75.
B. Design Competition
Winners of the competition will receive $200, $150 and $100.
NABEC Graduate Student Competition
Deadline for the abstract submission is March 31, 2007.Two graduate student awards will be given at the 2007 summer NABEC meeting for:
1. Best Graduate Student Oral Presentation, and
2. Best Graduate Student Poster, as judged by panels.
The winners of each category will receive a certificate and a financial award. Entrants must be a current graduate student or have recently graduated, and must submit a proposal by the deadline issued in the call for abstracts by NABEC. Judging for the two competitions will be based on established criteria that include both content and presentation.

Sunday: Welcome Reception - Hilton Garden Inn - Hors d'oeuvres, cash bar (included in registration)
Monday: Amish Picnic and Entertainment - Memory Park in the center of Amish Country ($30/$15 kids)
We will start with a reception and tour of the energy efficient home of Allen Zimmerman. Locally made beer (Great Lakes Brewery) and wine (Troutman vineyards) will be served. Next we will proceed through the center of Amish country to Memory Park for an Amish Wedding Feast including ice cream made with real horse power and a local musician you will not forget. Three Amish families will join us to answer questions about Amish culture and beliefs. An Amish buggy will be available for rides and an Amishman will speak on why the Amish came to Ohio. The park has play equipment and trails for youngsters who may want to attend.
Tuesday: Awards Banquet at the Shisler Conference Center ($43)
This event will start with a reception and local harp ensemble "Fare thee well" in the garden area of the Shisler Center. Then we will be served a dinner of specially prepared local and Organic cuisine prepared by Monique Thoret. Entertainment after dinner will be provided by the "City of Flags" chorus followed by the Awards presentations.
