Title:The laboratory preference of annual legumes by pea weevil Sitona lineatus L. (Col., Curculionidae) and their effect on susceptibility of weevils to entomogenous nematodes
Citation:Journal of Invertebrate Pathology. 71:(3) 248-250. .
Abstract:
The activity and natural mortality of Sitona lineatus weevils during the egg laying period may be connected with host plant preference. Preference of S. lineatus adults for early held pea and other pea cultivars influences their low feeding activity and results in lower average body weight and higher susceptibility to entomogenous nematodes, Steinernema carpocapsae, S. feltiae, and Heterorhabditis bacteriophora
