Title:Crop protection research on experimental stations. Overview of crop protection in the growing of ornamental woody plants
Citation:Gewasbescherming. 29:(1) 17-23. in Dutch.
Abstract:
An overview is given of research on insects, fungi, nematodes and weeds at 4 experimental stations, specializing in woody plants, in the Netherlands. Heterorhabditis spp. are used as biological control agents against Otiorhynchus sulcatus. Plant parasitic nematodes (Pratylenchus penetrans and P. vulnus) are controlled by rotations with Tagetes sp. Warning systems for Sphaerotheca pannosa and Pseudoperonospora sparsa infestations in roses are developed. Research on Botrytis cinerea, Phoma clematadina (in Clematis spp.), Phytophthora, weed control, integrated pest management in nurseries, pest resistance and application methods for pesticides is also discussed
