The paper titled ÒMachine Vision Extracted Plant Movement for Early Detection of Plant Water StressÒ was coauthored with Murat Kacira and Ted H. Short. International
    IET Select Paper Award. 2003. ASAE Paper No. 033118 was recognized as one of the best conference papers submitted to the IET Division sponsored sessions at the 2003 ASAE Annual International Meetings. The award was given to no more than 10 percent of all IET conference papers of a given year. The paper was coauthored with Yang Yang. International

Jay Martin 2005 Lumley Research Award (category B) from the OSU College of Engineering. The category B award is given to assistant professors in recognition of outstanding research accomplishments.
    Dr. Martin partnered with faculty from the Knowlton School of Architecture and the firm of Jonathan Barnes Architecture and Design to submit one of five winning designs to redesign the Whittier Peninsula (an area of land south of downtown Columbus, alongside the Sciota River). The competition was sponsored by the City of Columbus, The Neighborhood Design Center, and the Columbus Dispatch.

Alfred Soboyejo 2004 Alfred Soboyejo was honored with the Knighthood of Columbus, and also became Chancellor of the Knights of Columbus, at Saint Joseph Cathedral, The Roman Catholic Cathedral in Columbus, Ohio.
    National Aeronautics and Space Administration research award.
  2003 Was awarded the status of Life Member of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers.
