What Can You Tell Me About Food, Agricultural and Biological Engineering (FABE)?

The Department of Food, Agricultural and Biological Engineering offers one engineering program leading to a B.S. in Food, Agricultural and Biological Engineering; however, the program consists of three options paralleling the degree name: food engineering, agricultural engineering, and biological engineering. The program requirements are comprised of four components:

  • FABE requirements
  • College of Engineering Core requirements
  • Technical electives
  • GEC requirements (The GEC requirements are the same as those for all programs in the College of Engineering, see (http://www.eng.ohio-state.edu/academic/gecs.html) for the GECs)

The flexibility provided by the engineering core has made it possible to tailor the science, engineering and technical electives to the specific requirements of each of the three option areas. Descriptions of FABE courses are listed online in the universityÕs Master course bulletin at (http://buckeyelink.osu.edu/masterschedule/msched.aspx).
