Ohio State University researchers and
Ohio farmers form the core of OFFER. This interdisciplinary team works
together to develop research initiatives to better characterize the
principles behind organic agriculture, particularly in terms of underlying
crop-soil relationships, pest control, economics, and system management. |
|
Stakeholders: |
|
Ohio farmer stakeholders catalyzed the OFFER
program.
More than 30 of these stakeholders remain an integral part of
the program, providing substantial input into the program's activities,
including: |
-
input and feedback on grant proposals,
research topics, experimental design, and plot
management
-
on-farm trials
-
attendence at national meetings (i.e.,
the Scientific Congress on Organic Agriculture Research (SCOAR),
Organic Agriculture Consortium (OAC))
-
representing the OFFER Program in Japan
-
reviewing publications
|
Researchers:
A dynamic group of Ohio State University researchers collaborate from ten different programs and departments to examine each aspect of the organic farming system, from soil and crop quality to marketing opportunities. |
