  • very fine chlorotic strips adjacent to the small veins on the underside of leaves
  • older plants become yellowed and reddened with severe stunting
• Environment
  • primarily in river bottom field where johnsongrass is a problem
• Transmission
  • leafhopper transmits MCDV from overwintering johnsongrass to corn
• Management
  • virus tolerant hybrids
  • eradicate johnsongrass
