Text Box: OHIO TIMBER PRICE REPORT July 14, 2003

This is the first Ohio Timber Price report that has been published in 2 yrs. Current price reports are being compared with 2001 price reports. You will notice that we have added a column that indicates the number of reports that we have received for a particular item. The overwhelming comment offered by respondents is the weather. Wet conditions have restricted log supplies. Sawlogs: While many items show improvement over 2001 prices, the item that stands out is No.1 Common Hickory with a 68% increase. Stumpage: Stumpage prices show a general upward trend with strong gains in Ash and Hickory. Buyers indicate that they are willing to pay higher prices for quality stands of timber when they can find them.
This report was funded in part by the Renewable Resources Extension Act (RREA).
