Melanie Lewis Ivey Completes PhD Program

Congratulations to Melanie Lewis Ivey for successfully completing her PhD. Melanie if the first student in the departments history to complete a PhD program while working full time. The title of her dissertation is "Assessing Microbial Risks and Management Strategies in Vegetables". Melanie will be hooded by Dr. Sally Miller on December 11th.

Sally Miller Receives $2 Million Grant

Sally Miller received a $2 million grant from the U.S. Department Of Agriculture's National Institute of Food and Agriculture to improve disease control and food safety in the greenhouse tomato industry. This is a multidisciplinary and multi-institutional project that involves stakeholders, Extension specialists and academics. [Press Release]
