To foster social, health, economic, and environmental stewardship through an ecological approach to urban landscaping
The ULEP Opportunity
Landscaping can serve as a solution to the issues facing the urbanized environment and to build an environmental economy using the regulatory drivers surrounding the storm water run-off, nutrient loading of water ways, chemical pesticide use restrictions, and waste generation
The ULEP Mission
To build and promote an ecosystem approach to urban landscape research, education, and outreach programs through an effective partnership between the university, industry, and the public
The ULEP Goals

Develop urban landscape planning, design, establishment, and maintenance tools, products, and systems for enhanced economic, social, health, and environmental benefits.

Create a new cadre of urban landscape professionals through strong interdisciplinary graduate and undergraduate education

Bring a positive change in public attitudes towards urban landscaping norms and practices through novel models of participatory learning and K-12 programming.
