The ULEP Vision

To foster social, health, economic, and environmental stewardship through an ecological approach to urban landscaping

The ULEP Opportunity

Landscaping can serve as a solution to the issues facing the urbanized environment and to build an environmental economy using the regulatory drivers surrounding the storm water run-off, nutrient loading of water ways, chemical pesticide use restrictions, and waste generation

The ULEP Mission

To build and promote an ecosystem approach to urban landscape research, education, and outreach programs through an effective partnership between the university, industry, and the public

The ULEP Goals

  • Develop urban landscape planning, design, establishment, and maintenance tools, products, and systems for enhanced economic, social, health, and environmental benefits.

  • Create a new cadre of urban landscape professionals through strong interdisciplinary graduate and undergraduate education

  • Bring a positive change in public attitudes towards urban landscaping norms and practices through novel models of participatory learning and K-12 programming.

The ULEP Team

A broad interdisciplinary team of scientists from many colleges from within and outside the Ohio State University, federal and state government organizations, industry, and the environmental organizations
