Thousands of people visit OARDC's Wooster campus each year to learn about our current research efforts. Self guided tours of campus and Secrest Arboretum are available 7 days a week during daylight hours. In addition, we offer guided tours to groups of 10 or more weekdays between the hours of 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. Guided tours require a minimum two-week advance notice, and dates are subject to availability. There is no charge for non-profit groups; a rate of $2/person applies to commercial groups.
Popular destinations include Secrest Arboretum, the Garden of Roses of Legend and Romance, the Laboratory for Pest Control Application Technology, the Molecular and Cellular Imaging Center, the Composting Center, engineering greenhouses, no-till plots, and animal facilities to name just a few. In addition, we are engaged in specific outreach opportunities for students in grades K-12 through our GROW program.
Our Visitor Center is also open weekdays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and includes educational exhibits and displays, a small gift area, and children's activities. Our ever-popular Bug Zoo has relocated to Thorne Hall within our entomology department. For more information e-mail us using the contact link below or call 330-202-3507.
