Biography


 

Tim Koch is a Research Associate in the Horticulture and Crop Science Department at the OARDC in Wooster, Ohio. He has a BS in Horticulture from West Virginia University. He began working at OARDC in 1979 with Dr. Garth Cahoon in viticulture testing new grape cultivars and doing field research with table and wine grapes. He also was an assistant branch manager at the Jackson Branch of OARDC in southern Ohio under Bob McConnell responsible for the care and maint

ainence of horticultural research plots at the branch including apples, peaches, strawberries and brambles. Tim also worked in the Department of Entomology under Dr. Casey Hoy with vegetable insects such as the diamondback moth, sweet corn earworm, Colorado potato beetle, and cabbage looper. He then worked with Dr. John Cardina in the weed science field doing herbicide research with agronomic crops. He is currently conducting field research under Dr. Doug Doohan with vegetables, fruit, and hardwood brush control supported by grants and chemical companies. This research has led to new labeling of chemicals for Ohio growers. Tim enjoys diversity and resides with his wife and daughter on a mini-farm near Orrville.
